Deciding when to switch jobs is one of the most critical career choices people face, yet it is often clouded by uncertainty and emotion. In this talk, Ada will explore the key factors that signal it is time to move on, balancing personal and professional growth with practical considerations. This might also help attendees notice when a layoff is on the horizon so they can be prepared.

Controlled leaving depends on two important aspects: the career prospects offered to a person and how they feel about leaving. But how can someone recognize the prospects they have or want? Identifying one’s own needs and wants is not easy. During this session, Ada will detail a three-step process that attendees can use to find out if it is time to jump ship and/or help them find something new:

1. Evaluate their own worth and how they feel about their work
2. Map out the value of their current position
3. Decide whether the sum of the cost and value of staying is positive

Whether someone is unhappy or not, it is always good to evaluate their situation. Ada will use personal anecdotes to illustrate how attendees can use the tools provided to figure out what their worth is. Regardless of their situation, they will know how to make a decision in a way that will lead them toward personal fulfillment and success.
