Following the Thread: Observability in Production

Moving our testing efforts closer to production really is great! It allows us to go from testing in a somewhat production-like environment to suddenly actually being able to test on the exact same setup as our actual users!

It comes with some difficulties, however. One of them being our lack of visibility into the system we’re testing. Traditional testing lets us spin up environments we have full control over – even attaching debuggers to the system while we execute our tests. To be able to test with confidence, and knowing what *actually* happens in our distributed systems we need to add observability.
