Arnika is software tester with over 10 years of experience in the field of quality assurance. “Exploratory Tester of the Year” in the “Testing Heroes 2018” plebiscite. During her professional career, she gained extensive experience, ranging from manual tests, through websites, performance tests, mobile applications, data warehouses, business intelligence, embedded systems, advanced automation, to using machine learning in testing.
Co-author of publications and presentations on quality assurance in IT, including “”Requirements Engineering in practice””. She is also a conference speaker, presenting at over 20 industry conferences, including STF in Milan, SQA Days in St. Petersburg, and STAR Canada in Toronto.

The Only Constant in Life is Change
The title may sound trivial or even like a cliche. But in today’s world, whether it is environment or work constant change is a fact. And those changes can be difficult to introduce and manage. So, how to embrace and control them? Not without a reason we have something called Change Management, the whole field dedicated to prepare, support and help with changes. Usually it’s applied at the organization level, but from my experience, I know the approach can be applied anywhere.
How change management can support testing then? Every change starts with a mindset. Whether it is change of a tool in use, or methodology practice. Based on my experience, I would like to tell a story. How, with support of Change Management, my team adapted to the new ways of working and started to use better, more suitable tools.
Approached and techniques that helped us include Deming Cycle and ADKAR model. And, I believe, that with some adjustments they can also be used by others.
